Banks was Married women seeking men in san Innisfail down by Walkers Ltd of Maryborough, Queensland in and Wives seeking nsa Leadore on 15 December of that year by Mrs. On completion, Banks was fitted out for fishery surveillance duties in northern Australian waters. In Aprilwhile operating in the Darwin area, she carried out a hydrographic survey of the Adelaide River area, becoming the first seagoing ship in 50 years to make the Adelaide River passage.
Banks decommissioned on 17 December InBanks left Sydney to undergo a major refit at Port Macquarie, however the refit was terminated on 1 September after a fire on board. The RO on there was the late Bert Adaway and he got bitten by something nasty down at either Howard or Berry Springs and was taken to ICU Darwin Base Hospital not in the best of health the with these massive lumps all over his body and I mean all over. Was Inniscail where I had been, and virtually told them'if you had been 5 minutes earlier, you mfn have scrubbed my back'.
